Rivendell Academy exists to come alongside homeschool families in the education of their children, cultivating wonder, wisdom, and worship.
We believe education is not merely the transfer of information, but the formation of the whole person. True education shapes the mind, the affections, the imagination, and the soul. Our goal is not simply to produce students who perform well on tests, but children who learn to love what is good, true and beautiful.
Rooted in classic Christian tradition, Rivendell Academy seeks to cultivate wonder before mastery. We believe children should first encounter the world with delight, awe, and affection before analysis and abstraction.
Through rich stories, great books, beautiful language, nature study, music, art, memory work, narration, and meaningful conversations, students will learn in the poetic mode - a way of knowing that begins with wonder and leads to wisdom.
Using “The Children’s Tradition” curriculum, we aim to provide an embodied education - one that engages the senses, the imagination, and the heart. We want children to experience learning as something living and embodied, not analytical or disconnected from Reality.
As a two-day homeschool tutorial, Rivendell Academy serves as a supplement to family discipleship and home education. Parents remain the primary educators, while we provide a rich academic and communal environment where students can grow in friendship, virtue, and delight.
We are not simply preparing children for college or careers, we are helping to form human beings who can recognize goodness, pursue truth, and rejoice in beauty under the Lordship of Christ.
Rivendell provides an education full of wonder, wisdom, worship and fruitful work. Our hope is that students leave not only knowing more but loving rightly.
2026-27 School Year
For our opening year, we will have 3 classes:
Kindergarten class
Year 1-2 class
Year 3-4 class
We will meet on Thursdays and Fridays, from 9:30-3:15.
We are located at Swamp Mennonite Church, 2125 Rosedale Rd, Quakertown, PA.
We are using The Children’s Tradition curriculum, a beautiful, poetic trajectory that carries students from wonder into wisdom.
